Hari Raya 2010 - A Dinnie Production

My darling family,

Thought I'd give this carcass of a blog a bit of a kick.

How have you all been?

Anyhoo...I've got an idea which I've already shared with Ika. And she being the most sensible Dinnie when it comes to cuckoo ideas, reacted very positively towards it that I thought it's safe to make this proposal to you lot.

What do you guys think of starting a new tradition? Arwah Mak Dah expressed this idea not too long before she left us. In fact, it was a little wish she had. She said to me, "Nina, why don't you get the kids together and put up a little show on Hari Raya?"

I thought it was such a brilliant idea. But the children were still a little too young and I wasn't quite sure how we could put it together. But I think now we've got quite a lively group of Mini Dinnies, some of them are already performing at school, able to sing little songs and lullabies or even play an instrument (i.e. Bianca and her harmonica)that we can manage it.

I know it's well ahead of time, but Dinnies like to drag their feet. And it takes time to select songs to sing, for the kids to memorise them well enough, or to polish that ballet performance (Arissa and Sara).

Rifdy, you could try performing one of your compositions? That would be awesome. Adin, Fahim, or even Imran - any guitar players maybe you guys could strum the guitar for a touch of musical as the kids sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars'? Fawwaz, I know that you jam with your friends, maybe you've got something up your sleeve eh?

I think Yusuf Islam's CDs are a great resource for songs that the kids could sing to embrace the spirit of Raya.

I have no idea where the venue should be. No idea how to put up a stage. But if I can get a few Dinnie moms on the bandwagon we might just pull something amateurish but fun together.

Hey, if anything it'll be full of Dinnie fun, could be a new tradition, and the kids could learn to enjoy public speaking and build up their confidence.

Tell me what you guys think?

Nana, I am counting on you. Aisha you too. You guys are ma homies when it comes to these mommy & kids activities.

Love ya all!
Nina Bobo

p.s. All Dinnies are welcome to show off their stuff on stage too - not restricted to Mini Dinnies only. Bring it on people!
