Dinnie Raya Production - Committee Position by Aisha
Salam All,
How is everyone. Anyways.. i just got back from Bangkok and had a wonderful time with Nina and while i was there we talked about this Dinnie Production that we feel so passionately for. You know how the Christians get so excited in the celebration of Christmas. They get involve in charity, they have concerts for their children in spirit of Christmas, the whole works Christmas tree dramas on Jesus' birth, christmas carols and they are so charitable. They give and give. It doesnt matter even if your not Christian, you also want to celebrate Christmas. What more our children..Mikael wants us to get Christmas trees n snow. Taufik wants something from Santa...its crazy.
So I feel that we should have something with that effect on Raya. Not just ketupat, rendang and giving each other angpows but to have a tradition to celebrate Raya in the true spirit of Raya : to be grateful to what we have and to be charitable and to teach those virtues to our children. So if we could have this Raya concert, we could tell our children that they will be performing to collect money for Perpustakaan Saadah of Darul Hikmah (who needs more books n programmes for their computers) from the audience : dinnies. We will just pass around a box while they watch the concert to contribute for that cause. It will probably not be much at most rm100..but at least our children (and even ourselves) will know the meaning of doing something charitable.
Mind you , we are not doing some spielberg production but something simple like a school concert. (But im not saying its easy either) Its open to all. Not only the kids. Rifdi, Kamiliya or any Dinnies can also perform if they want to. I know that we are known to be hot hot chicken shit people but if we plan properly n work together we should be able to do this. We have one year people.
Ive spoken to Nina, Ika, Yasmin and Dayah and they have all agreed and are excited to do this. I feel that in order for this project to materialise a committee should be formed. I've listed the positions of the committee and whom i feel best to head each position. Again if you all don't mind i have self appointed myself as the President to be the head slave of the project. If any of you all would like to volunteer for this position, please do. Anyways, like i said earlier Nina, Ika, Yasmin and Dayah have all agreed to their positions. So im now asking you guys, Ariff, Hussein, Tia, Hanna, Nana, Noreen and Yanti, whether you would agree to take the positions I have "knighted" you with. Each of you will be the head of the position and should you need any help you can appoint your own committee from the other Dinnies. i.e Nana can seek help from the aunties for the food.
Below is the list of the proposed committee. (If you have any objection to your post or have any ideas to improve it please tell me).
DINNIES RAYA PRODUCTION – COMMITTEE POSITIONS
1. President – To oversee and manage the whole project. (AISHA)
2. Vice President – To assist president in all of the above and to be the representative at the home base. (HANNA)
3. Treasurer– collection of monies for the event from Dinnies. Budget management, approval and dissemination. (TIA)
4. Facebook Administrator – to manage the event’s facebook page. Providing updates, communications and information to all performers and family members periodically. (NINA)
5. Performance Data Coordinator – To source for all that is required for each child’s performance when the parents are unable to source it i.e. mp3 files, CDs, and lyrics. (YANTI & NINA)
6. Costumes Designer – to design and produce costumes for the performers (DAYAH)
7. Master of Ceremony – the position is self-explanatory (NOREEN)
8. Props & Stage Coordinator– to head and manage the preparation of the stage, backdrop and other required props for the performances. (YAKMIN)
9. Filming & Photograph Coordinator – to film the preparations, the performances. Also to photograph the event. (ARIFF & HUSSEIN)
10. Food & Logistics Coordinator – to organize the food for the event and to manage logistical needs. (NANA)
11. Music Coordinator/DJ – to be in charge of all musical needs for the performances. (NED)
12. Backstage Wardrobe & Make Up Coordinator – to be responsible for preparing the performers backstage with their wardrobe and make up needs. (IKA)
So basically thats it. I just need you all to CONFIRM with me that you are ok with the positions and if you have any further queries on it just ask me. Once I get all your confirmations, I will come up with the timeline on how we should progress.
